Privacy policy for BEAST

BEAST ("the app") is developed by altspaze. This policy explains what data the app collects and how it is used.
Your workout data stays on your device
Everything you enter in BEAST — training plans, exercises, sets, reps, weights, and related notes — is stored locally on your device. It is never uploaded to us or to anyone else. There are no accounts, no sign-up, and no cloud sync. If you delete the app, that data is gone.
Anonymous usage analytics
BEAST collects anonymous usage analytics to understand how the app is used and where it can be improved. This is the only data that leaves your device.
What is collected:
- Which screens you open, and when the app is opened
- A small number of specific actions — for example, creating a training plan, creating an exercise, entering values into a workout, changing the app language, or changing your analytics preference
- Basic technical context sent automatically with each event: device type, screen dimensions, language setting, and device time zone
- Two randomly generated identifiers: one for your installation of the app, and one for the current session
- When a support purchase completes: the product identifier and its displayed price
What is not collected:
- Your name, email address, or any account details — the app has no accounts
- The contents of your workouts: no exercise names, weights, reps, or notes are ever sent
- Payment details
- Your IP address — it is discarded and never stored with your events
- Location of any kind, precise or approximate — the app disables IP-based location lookup entirely
- Screen recordings or session replays
- Any identifier used to track you across other apps or websites
The identifiers are generated randomly on your device and are not linked to you personally. They exist so that repeat use can be counted as one device rather than many, and so related events can be grouped into a single visit. No user profile is created, and events are never tied to an identity.
Turning analytics off
Analytics are on by default, and the app tells you this when you first open it. You can turn analytics off at any time under Settings → Privacy. Once turned off, the app stops sending usage data immediately, and on later launches the analytics component is not started at all. You can turn it back on again from the same place whenever you like.
Who processes this data
Analytics are processed by PostHog, acting as our data processor. Data is hosted in the European Union. We do not sell data, share it with advertisers, or use it for advertising or profiling. No other third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs are used in the app.
In-app purchases
BEAST offers optional in-app purchases ("tips") to support development. These purchases are processed entirely by Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iOS). We do not receive or store your payment information — this is handled directly by Google or Apple in accordance with their own privacy policies:
Legal basis and your rights
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on our legitimate interest in understanding and improving how the app works. Because the analytics data is not linked to your identity, we generally cannot single out or retrieve the events belonging to a particular person. You can stop all further collection at any time using the setting described above. If you have a question or a request relating to your data, contact us using the address below and we will help where we are able to.
Data retention
Analytics events are retained by our analytics provider for a limited period in line with the plan we use, after which they are deleted or aggregated. Locally stored workout data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
Deleting your data
This section explains how to delete data associated with BEAST, developed by altspaze.
Your workout data. Training plans, exercises, sets, reps, weights and notes are stored only on your device and are never uploaded. To delete them, either remove them inside the app or uninstall BEAST. Once the app is uninstalled, that data is gone and we never held a copy of it.
Usage analytics. To stop any further analytics being collected, open the app and turn off "Share anonymous usage data" under Settings → Privacy. This takes effect immediately, and on later launches the analytics component is not started at all.
Requesting deletion of past events. You can email us at info@altspaze.com with the subject "Data deletion" and we will help as far as we are able. Please be aware of an important limitation: the analytics we collect are anonymous by design. There are no accounts, no names, no email addresses and no IP addresses stored with events, and no user profiles are created. Because of this we have no way to look up the events belonging to a particular person, and so we usually cannot isolate and delete one individual's past events. If you can give us details that narrow the events down — for example approximate dates and times of use, together with your device type and language setting — we will delete any events we are able to identify with reasonable confidence.
What is kept. Anonymous events that cannot be linked to you remain in our analytics until they reach the end of the retention period described above, after which they are deleted or aggregated. They are not used to build a profile of you and are not shared with advertisers or sold.
Children's privacy
BEAST is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. The analytics described above are anonymous and are not used to build profiles of any user.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date.
